By participating in any event, program or activity organised by DASH, you are expected to respect everyone in our organization regardless of their gender, race, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability or other aspects related to appearance, origin, or identity. We do not accept any kind of disrespectful behavior in any of our events, at volunteering related activities or occasions.
DASH is meant to be a positive experience from the beginning to the end for all attendees, volunteers, and other contributors.

Anyone violating these rules may be expelled from DASH at the discretion of the DASH team. The DASH Code of Conduct has been established to ensure that every attendee a our event feels safe and respected. If you are subjected to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subjected to unacceptable behaviour, or have any other concerns, please notify DASH event staff or contact the harassment contact people of the event as soon as possible. The event staff will be available to assist those experiencing unacceptable behavior to feel safe for the duration of the event. All events have designated HCP (harassment contact persons) introduced at the beginning of events, identifiable and contactable with the information on the HCP posters around the venue. All raised cases will be handled confidentially and thoroughly, involving all parties and if necessary, third parties such as the police.

1.1 DASH Entities. "DASH," "we," or "us" means the DASH entity identified on the DASH Site through which you apply, purchase a ticket, or otherwise register for a specific Event.
1.2 Events. "Event" refers to any DASH-branded hackathon, competition, workshop, speaker event, or other activity organized by a DASH entity, including, without limitation, the Sprint, the Bits and similarly branded events.
1.3 DASH Sites. "DASH Site(s)" are the websites and online services operated by Dash Design Oy (Business ID 3352279-6) at the following domains: dash.design. They include all related sub-domains, application platforms, submission portals, and any other online service we designate for an Event.
1.4 Platform Account. A "Platform Account" is the individual user account that contains your Event application, profile information, and access to Event-related tools and services.
1.5 Participant. "Participant," "you," or "your" means any natural or legal person who applies to, registers for, tickets for, or takes part in an Event or who accesses a DASH Site. By submitting an application, purchasing a ticket, or otherwise registering for an Event, you confirm that you are authorised to bind yourself (and, if applicable, each member of your team or the legal entity you represent) to these Terms, and you accept these Terms in full.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on the DASH Sites and will apply from the time of publication. Continued use of the DASH Sites or participation in an Event after a change signifies your acceptance of the updated Terms.
3.1 Application Procedure. You may apply by (a) creating a Platform Account and completing the online application form during the published application window, or (b) submitting the required information via a third-party service specified by us for a particular Event.
3.2 Accuracy of Information. All information you provide must be true, complete, and kept up to date. You must promptly notify us of any unauthorised access to, or misuse of, your Platform Account.
3.3 Team and Company Applications. If you apply on behalf of a team or legal entity, you represent that every team member or entity participant has read and accepted these Terms and that you have authority to bind them.

5.1 Selection. Admission to an Event is at DASH’s sole discretion and cannot be appealed. We may later invite previously rejected applicants.
5.2 Event Rules. You must comply with these Terms and any Event-specific rules announced before or during the Event. If Event-specific rules are not provided, or a topic is not addressed by them, the General Event Rules in Section 8 will apply.
5.3 Submission Platform. We may use either our own platform or a third-party service for registrations, applications, and project Submissions. If a third-party service is used, we will clearly identify it and provide a link to its terms and privacy policy.
5.4 Disqualification & Cancellation. We may disqualify you or cancel/suspend an Event at any time and for any reason. We are not liable for any resulting costs or damages.
5.5 Prizes. Winners are selected at DASH's (or its appointed jury's) sole discretion, and decisions are final. You are responsible for all taxes associated with any prize.
You are solely responsible for all content—including but not limited to code, text, images, audio, video, and other materials—uploaded or transmitted by you to a DASH Sites or third-party service in connection with an Event ("Participant Content"). We may, but are not obligated to, monitor Participant Content and remove any content that we believe breaches these Terms or applicable law.
7.1 Default Ownership. Unless otherwise provided in this Section, all Submissions and other work you create during an Event remain DASH’s partners’ intellectual property.
7.2 DASH Licence. You grant DASH and its partners a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, and non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, display, and publicly perform (a) information you choose to publish about your Submission for Event marketing or promotional purposes; and (b) audiovisual recordings of your participation in the Event.
7.3 Alternative IPR Arrangements. For certain challenges or Events, DASH or its partners may specify alternative intellectual-property terms in a separate written agreement.
8.1 CODE OF CONDUCT
You must treat all participants, mentors, partners, volunteers, and organisers with respect.
Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour is prohibited and may result in immediate removal or disqualification.
8.2 FAIR PLAY
Projects must be built primarily during the Event.
Use of pre-existing code, designs, datasets, or frameworks is permitted only if clearly identified in your Submission. Cheating, plagiarism, or misrepresentation is prohibited and may result in disqualification.
8.3 TEAMWORK
Team size must comply with the limits published for the Event. A participant may belong to only one team per challenge.
8.4 USE OF PARTNER RESOURCES
Where a challenge provides APIs, datasets, hardware, or other resources, you may use them strictly in accordance with the terms communicated for that challenge. You must not reverse-engineer, circumvent security, probe, or otherwise misuse partner systems or data.
8.5 HEALTH, SAFETY & VENUE RULES
You must follow all health, safety, and venue instructions issued by DASH staff or venue operators. Illegal substances are prohibited at all official Event premises.
8.6 PROJECT SUBMISSIONS
Submissions must be completed by the published deadline on the designated platform.Teams are responsible for ensuring their project can be demonstrated in the format specified.
8.7 JUDGING & PERMITTED TESTING BY PARTNERS
Challenge-specific judging criteria will be published for each Event and typically consider: (i) relevance to the brief, (ii) novelty/creativity, (iii) technical quality, (iv) user experience, (v) completeness/demo-ability, and (vi) feasibility/impact.
9.1 Confidential Information. During your interaction with DASH you may receive non-public, proprietary, or otherwise confidential information ("Confidential Information"). You agree to keep confidential information secret and use it solely for participating in the Event.
9.2 Challenge-Specific NDAs. DASH or its partners may require you to sign a separate Non-Disclosure Agreement before you access certain materials or participate in specific challenges.
These Terms remain in force while you hold a Platform Account or participate in an Event. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, such as confidentiality, licences, disclaimers, and limitations of liability, will continue to apply.
11.1 We strive to keep the DASH Sites and Events operational, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
11.2 Limitation of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DASH and Dash Design Oy are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to these Terms, the DASH Sites, or any Event.
11.3 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Neither party is liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, fire, flood, pandemic, government restrictions, or internet service outages.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the relevant Event is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent court located in the domicile of the organizing DASH entity.
14.1 The DASH name and logo are owned by Dash Design Oy and may not be used without written permission.
14.2 These Terms apply only to the DASH Sites and Events. Linked third-party services are governed by their own terms, and we accept no responsibility for them.
14.3 If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
14.4 No partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created by these Terms.
14.5 You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign this Agreement to our affiliates or successors through merger, acquisition, or other corporate reorganisation.
